Pigeon Riverfest is just around the corner in Mongo, Indiana. A one day festival that promises those far away and close to home that there really is a place where you can enjoy a day of family fun for free. Family, friends, townies and past townies gather at the Mongo United Methodist Church property for a fun filled day. On the slate are hourly contests, karaoke, live entertainment, storytelling, primitive craftsmen, food, a horseshoe tournament, clowns, a craft fair, a parade, pie contest, water ball, a duck race and so much more. This is an event that is up and coming, people are just beginning to realize the small town splendor of Mongo. Each year we honor a local with the title of mayor for the upcoming year, an honor held in highest regards. Pigeon Riverfest is from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday, September 8, 2007. This is a festival that you won't forget, one in which memories are made and old times remembered. Let your children experience the goodness of hometown fun and festivities.
